Currently accessible
Not blocked at the country level, but common school, office, and hostel networks in China filter them. Route through AnyProxy to skip that filter.
Background
The Great Firewall (GFW) makes China the most technically sophisticated censorship regime online. Google, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, WhatsApp, ChatGPT, and virtually all Western social platforms are blocked. Deep packet inspection is used at scale; new circumvention techniques are actively probed and blocked.
How the filtering works: The GFW combines DNS poisoning, IP blocking, keyword filtering, TLS SNI inspection, and active probing. Consumer VPNs frequently fail; obfuscated protocols work best.
ISPs in China
Most China filters live at the ISP or workplace level. Routing through AnyProxy sends only encrypted traffic to us — the ISP sees the connection, not the destination.
The essentials
Law & policy
Unauthorised VPN use is restricted in China. AnyProxy is provided as a web service; its effectiveness inside China varies by network, and users are responsible for compliance with local law.
Not legal advice. School and workplace policies may still prohibit proxy use even where the tool itself is lawful.
Billing
Free tier stays free. 2 local payment methods accepted for Pro on China networks.
Rendering
China-hosted pages render in the language they were served in. Proxying moves where the request comes from, not what it says — no translation layer.
