Why is BBC blocked?

BBC is one of the most-visited sites on earth, with more than 600 million monthly users. That reach is exactly why it gets blocked — not by governments most of the time, but by the network you happen to be on.

Schools and offices filter it to save bandwidth. Some ISPs throttle it. A few countries restrict it during elections or unrest. In every one of those cases the block sits between you and BBC, so routing your request through a server somewhere else steps around it.

Can I sign in to BBC?

Does the BBC mobile app work through a proxy?
No. AnyProxy is a web proxy, so it works with bbc.com in a browser tab. On a phone, open Chrome or Safari, not the app.
